Rezumat

In order to protect and conserve in time the cultural and artistic heritage there is the need of complex preservation, restoration, and exhibition activities. This article presents modern procedures of cleaning the adherent coating from old patrimony paintings. There is a multitude of factors that contribute to deterioration. The protection and conservation in time of the cultural and artistic patrimony impose a series of preliminary consolidation measures followed by cleaning. Irrespective of the procedures: classical, modern, or by laser pyrolysis, the cleaning has to be stopped when original colour layers appear. The preservation and restoration of paintings in general, are connected to very complex operations made by specialists in this field.
