Rezumat

New professional roles of pharmacists require new professional standards to define quality and safety of pharmacists’ activities. WHO and FIP developed and published international guideline on the excellence in pharmacy services quality. During the last four decades, the philosophy of pharmaceutical care and standards of good pharmacy practice were continuously spreading and disseminating, providing a wide range of national professional standards (Australia, Canada, USA, and UK). International initiatives on the evaluation of pharmacy services provide evidence on services distribution and tools for quality measurement (EDQM Quality Indicators Project, PCNE studies).
