<description xml:lang='en' descriptionType='Abstract'>The article analyzed the problem of large families in context of social and
economical conditions. In the last 20 years, the number of large families (with 3 and
more children) in Moldova is diminishing. Currently the large families constitute a very
small proportion of the total number of households (11,5%) according to the census of
the Republic of Moldova in 2004. In modern conditions of life this type of families has
many economical and social problems.
