Background. The development of HF after an old MI is a major problem in cardiology, the incidence being 1-4 per 1000 population per year. The prevalence of post-MI is about 1-2% of the adult population in developed countries increasing to ≥ 10% among people over 70 years of age. Objective of the study. Evaluation of quality of life in patients with old myocardial infarction and heart failure based on the Minnesota LHFQ (The Minnesota Living With Heart Failure Questionnaire). Material and Methods. Study performed on 60 patients with a mean age of 62.8 ± 20 years, suffering from HF after a supported MI interviewed before and at a distance of 3 months after revascularization. The quality of life of the patients was determined by applying the Minnesota LHF Questionnaire. The study was conducted between 2019-2020 in the Department of Chronic Heart Failure of the IMSP Institute of Cardiology. Results. The overall score of this questionnaire in patients before revascularization was 69.24 points, the physical score - 46.3 points and the emotional score -10.42 points. The maximum score of this questionnaire is 105 points (the lowest quality of life). The questioning of patients after revascularization was 54.3 points, the physical score - 33.6 points and the emotional score - 7.62 points. Conclusion. The quality of life of patients with old myocardial infarction and developed heart failure was greatly affected. However, revascularization has increased the quality of life of these patients at a distance of 3 months. |
