Pest development is a function of interactions among the components of the agricultural system. Canopy microclimate determines the rate of pest development. The interactions among microclimate components on sawfly (Hoplocampa testudinella), codling moth (Carpocapsa pomonella L.) and scab (Venturia inaequalis ) using SPS and GIS technologies was studied. Information from pest models can be used to simulate and predict the intensity and potential pest threat. Simulation models, GIS and interpolation techniques were integrated in a computer system. The system outputs represent information by which the decision making activity can be improved. The use of models allows to know the current situation, how it can evolve and to find the interactions between the canopy microclimate and the territory parameters (altitude, slope, etc.). The integration between phenological models and GIS allows producing complete information for decision making |
