Ankle fractures are common pathology which in some cases leads to severe deterioration of articulation, with severe consequences to the patient’s ability to walk or stand. This paper is a study of the treatment of this pathology through tibioastragalian arthrodesis. Using a group of 33 patients on whom we performed ankle arthrodesis we followed their recovery for two years. All had suffered different types of ankle fractures and post-surgical complications. We also made radiological studies to examine the quality of the arthrodesis and the biomechanical axis. The conclusion is that the ankle arthrodesis blocks the normal motion of the ankle but still permits the reduction of pain and edema and corrects the biomechanical axis with an evident role in the improvement of the ankle’s function.

Переломы лодыжек – это достаточно частая патология. Нередко они приводят к серьëзным нарушениям функций сустава, в частности ходьбы. В настоящей работе у 33 пациентов применялся таранно-большеберцовый артродез при лечении осложнений переломов медиальной лодыжки. Пациенты находились под наблюдением в течение двух лет. Таранно-большеберцовый артродез блокирует движения в суставе на время лечения, но вместе с тем устраняет болевые ощущения, отечность, исправляет положение голени и еë функции.
