The article is aimed at showing the role of colour idioms in the Russian and English linguistic world pictures. The article presents a comparative analysis of English and Russian colour idioms that gives a possibility to identify a system of values required for the research of cultural differences as well as uniqueness of mentality and outlook of English and Russian people. Special attention is paid to the general and specific features of “white” as a part of the linguistic idiomatic view of the world of English and Russian languages. |
