Circulation systems accelerated development, particularly highways, in Romania, lead to an increased need for application of design principles for noise barriers and landscape, principles with well-defi ned role in hiding and healing wounds (left behind construction process) and in aesthetics harmonization of highways and natural landscape. A “complete highway” should incorporate four basic elements in its design: utility, safety, resources economy and beauty. Sound barriers are often implemented independently, without a comprehensive approach. As a result, these barriers often appear purely technical solutions related to noise problem, solutions that pay little attention to their aesthetic impact on the environment. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the process of the correct implementation of noise barriers and landscapes located along the highways of Romania (existing or developing), elements that will improve environmental quality, both aesthetically and environmental. |
