Rezumat

A modern approach in the design of efficient and selective extractants for the radioactive wastes decontamination is based on the functionalisation of calix[4]arene platform by metallocomplexing groups, capable cooperatively to bind metal cations. We present here the molecular modelling, synthesis and extraction properties of a series of cone shaped tetraalkoxycalix[4]arenes possessing at the macrocyclic wide rim four CH2P(O)RR’ metallocomplexing groups (R and R’ are same or different Ar and Alk substituents). The synthesised calixarenes effectively transport actinides and lanthanides ions from an aqueous HNO3 solution to an organic phase. The increase in the distribution coefficients by a factor of up to three orders of magnitude for the synthesised calixarene phosphinoxides compared to the well known industrial extractants such as TAPO and CMPO is observed [1].Extraction of Eu3+ D - distribution between nitrobenzotrifluoride and HNO3 (0.3M)figure
