Rezumat

Bicalutamide (BCLT) is an antiandrogen medication that is primarily used to treat prostate cancer [1], but more recently as an androgen blocker of promoting feminization in male-to-female transgender adolescents [2]. BCLT derivatives are also studied for their activity as androgen receptor antagonists [3]. This study deals with the evaluation of compatibility of BCLT with several pharmaceutical excipients, using as investigational tools thermal analysis in dynamic air atmosphere (TG/DTG/HF data), FTIR spectroscopy and PXRD patterns. All samples were prepared in 1:1 mass ratio and kept in closed vials under ambient conditions. A comparative discussion for binary mixtures vs. each excipient and the evaluation of thermal treatment for inducing interactions is carried out.
