Complications of acute appendicitis and peritonitis are determined by misdiagnosis and surgical treatment errors and depends on many factors such age of the patient, atypical types of appendicitis and professionalism of the specialist. The authors describes the most frequent types of mistakes in the management of peritonitis in the base of analysis of 270 patients treated in The National Scientific and Practical Center of Pediatric Surgery „Natalia Gheorghiu” during the period 2007-2010.
