Sustainable socio-economic development strategy is the key-document that ensures the locality development based on the balance of interests between the population, business community and local authorities. On the other hand, it contributes for a greater transparency in the work of the City Hall and the local council because it allows monitoring their actions in terms of the time horizon and the financial means used. In this regard, the author considers that for the increase of the depth of the mentioned analysis, especially for the determination and understanding the competitive advantages of a locality, as well the identification of obstacles that leads to slowing down its development, we use the SWOT analysis. The data obtained in this analysis forms the information base for creation of the sustainable socio-economic development strategy of the locality.
