Timpul liber pentru studenţi este una din cele mai importante sfere ale vieţii lor. Întrucât asupra caracterului şi structurii timpului liber nu se proiectează condiţia de obligativitate (timpul liber şi-l petrece fiecare aşa cum vrea el). Conţinutul timpului liber se află într-o dependenţă directă de nivelul cultural al persoanei, de necesităţile ei spirituale. De felul cum acesta este consumat, depinde climatul tinerei familii, potenţialul ei sufletesc. În prezent atestăm o scădere a interesului tinerilor pentru participarea la viaţa culturală. Cele mai răspândite activităţi legate de timpul liber în familiile studenţeşti cu sau fără copii sunt activităţile legate de odihnă şi consumul valorilor culturale, în special în condiţiile de casă. Pentru studenţii căsătoriţi este caracteristic faptul că: pe de o parte ei sunt mai selectivi în ceea ce priveşte unde şi cu cine să petreacă timpul liber, iar pe de altă parte timpul liber este consumat raţional.

The free time for students is one of the most important spheres of their lives. Due to the condition of obligation is not designed on the free time nature and structure (everybody spends free time as they want). The content of leisure time is directly dependent on the cultural level of the person, of his or her spiritual needs. The way how it is wasted depends on the climate of the young family, of its spiritual potential. We are currently attesting a decrease of young people interests of their participation in cultural life. The most widespread activities related to leisure time in student families with or without children are activities connected to rest and consumption of cultural values, especially in home conditions. For married students it is characteristic the fact that on one hand they are more selective in terms of where and with whom to spend their free time, but on the other hand the free time is wasted rationally.
