Rezumat

This study shortly deals with bilateral economic relations between Turkey and EU under the umbrella of CU, which is predicted to be updated as soon as possible, foreign-dependency on energy which is the common point of Turkey and EU and impact of inclusion of energy in CU on Turkey. Within this frame the topic of article has been researched in depth as follows: bilateral foreign trade relations of Turkey and EU within the frame of CU, positive and negative impacts of CU on Turkey, current energy import of EU and Turkey, Russia’s being intersection point of Turkey and EU in terms of import of energy sources, energy relations between Turkey and EU and impact of inclusion of energy in CU on Turkey. Topic of article is a current issue. The 21-year-old CU should be adapted to global economic challenges since it has been brought into force as a transition period regulation before Turkey’s full EU membership. That’s why in terms of being in accordance with current economic developments CU requires modernization to satisfy the needs of the parties.
