Rezumat

My paper deals with the subject of communication – means and purpose in education, which is part of a major topic=Active, Interactive and Communicative Teaching/Learning Methods. From the very beginning I underlined the importance of communication in the case of teaching foreign languages for specific purposes. Taking into consideration the objectives, aims and long-term purposes of the Foreign Language for Specific Purpose Course – the thorough academic study of a foreign language and the development of communicative abilities in favour of a professional language – the communication between teacher and student, student – student and student – teacher enhances the quality of teaching/learning having formative and informative benefits. I mentioned in my paper that communication in educational context is a special type of communication – instructive, that builds up personalities, develops abilities, stimulates inter- and intra-communication, cognitive interactivity. I set my conclusions in the context of applied academic didactics and the requirements of the European linguistic policy.
