The overall increase in the number of elderly population, in other words - an aging population, which is registered in most countries, has resulted in an unprecedented rise in related to age chronic pathologies. One of the most widespread diseases of old age and senile men is benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH): under a series of studies carried out abroad, this pathology develops in 95% old men. If treatment is not started timely and if it is inadequate, BPH can leads to impaired function of vital organs and develop chronic renal failure. Underrating the importance of pathology both by patients themselves and the medical assistance system create situation in which BPH treatment falls like a heavy burden on health systems of most countries. The article analyze not only the epidemiological situation of BPH in our country and the world , but also some established approaches in the treatment of this pathology. |
