Rezumat

This article concerns partially the problem of assessment of learning French as a foreign language and analyses the pecularities of the formative and summative assessment. There is determined the pedagogical value of the evaluation, highlighting the decisive role of evaluation for the effective progression in learning French as a foreign language. In addition, we propose concrete examples of tests with their solutions and we present a summary of the evaluation concept and particularly of formative and summative assessment, outlining some of its features. This study proposes some tests with various items; presents criteria for evaluating the oral and written skills.
