Rezumat

Our paper aims at drawing attention on how the specificities of each journalistic subgenre impact on the translation of media discourse. Since our choice was to focus on the translation and (re)production of sports articles in the specialized media, our intention was to bring together several acknowledged translation procedures and, through the two case studies that we prepared, to provide certain methodological recommendations when dealing with such texts. Our case studies provide translation instances from French into Romanian of either one foreign article translated into two Romanian newspapers, or of several foreign articles translated and published in one Romanian newspaper. In each situation, notable events in football caught the attention of international readerships.
