În ultimii 30 de ani, perioadă în care manifestarea emoţiilor este cercetată în lingvistică, termenul de afectivitate, cunoscut mai întâi în psihologie, antropologie şi filozofie, a fost substituit prin termenul emoţie şi utilizat de savanţii care cercetează fenomenul în cauză într-o abordare interdisciplinară și transdisciplinară: în special în psiholingvistică, lingvistică antropologică, culturologie etc. Teoriile savanţilor americani şi europeni cu privire la universalitatea emoţiilor, pe de o parte, şi specificul lor cultural, pe de altă parte, au trezit un interes sporit printre cercetători. În principiu, constatăm existența în studiile moderne a patru teorii de bază, centrate pe problematica emoțiilor, și anume: abordarea darwinistă, teoria lui W. James, metoda cognitivă şi cea socio-constructivistă. Investigaţia noastră vizează încercarea de a oferi un studiu comparat, rezultat din examinarea unor teorii cu privire la emoţii. Caracterul de sinteză al prezentului studiu este motivat de scopul principal, axat pe extragerea metodelor potrivite de cercetare a modului de exprimare a emoţiilor în culturile românească, engleză şi rusă.

During the last 30 years, period in which the manifestation of emotions is studied in linguistics, the term affectivity previously found in psychology, anthropologyand philosophy was substituted by the term emotion and isused by the researchers at the inter-disciplinary and trans-disciplinary level: especially in psycholinguistics, linguistic anthropology, culturology, etc. The theories of American and European researchers concerning the universality of emotions on the one hand and the cultural specificity of emotions on the other hand have raised a great interest among the scholars. On the whole we ascertain the existence in the modern studies of four main theories focused on the issues connected to emotions which are: the Darwinist theory, W. James’s theory, the Cognitive approach and the Social-constructivist method. Our research comprises an attempt to provide a comparative study of various theories discussed by the scholars that are devoted to emotions. The synthetic character of the present study is motivated by the main goal which is to determine the appropriate research methods of investigation when studying the way of expressing emotions in Romanian, English and Russian cultures.
