The article proposes some methodological benchmarks for the interpretation of the poem „Ode (in ancient meter)” by M. Eminescu. There is special emphasis on the eminence view on the phenomenon of death, on the condition of man marked by genius, on the stages of self-knowledge. by analyzing the literary motifs attested in the work, the artistic language. At the same time, the author notes several techniques for approaching the work in question: the comparison exercise, the identification exercise, the questionproblem with answer options, the problematized debate.
