Ion Minulescu distinguished himself in all literary genres. Though, he will survive in time primarily for his lyrical works, he being one of the most important representatives of Symbolist poetry. Minulescu writes exclusively in free verse which is of a special sonority. The language is impressive for being full of neologisms. The success of Minulescu’s poetry lies in its exterior musicality. The verses are pre-eminently emphatic, this contributing to their wide popularity. Minulescu’s merit in literary art presents him as being the axis of Symbolist movement, the one who lowered Symbolism to everyone’s comprehension and popularized its methods.
