This article is dedicated to the analysis of the premises, causes, content and consequences of the 1992 war to defend the independence and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova, the role of the Kremlin and the Russian Federation in creating the self-proclaimed Transnistrian Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic (Transnistrian Soviet Republic). The process of initiation by the separatist paramilitary formations and the command of the 14th Army of the Russian Federation of armed aggression against the constitutional order in the Republic of Moldova. Characteristics and effect of the implementation of the Moldovan-Russian Agreement of 21.07.1992 on the principles of peaceful settlement of the armed conflict in the Transnistrian region of the Republic of Moldova. Identifying gaps and non-conformities of legal acts (political declarations, agreements, memoranda, protocols) on the regulation of armed conflict.
