Syntagmatic terms represent units of two or more terms with one meaning. They refer to a single notion, concept, action, process or phenomenon. The process of forming new terminological phrases has the highest productivity in ecological terminology, because they are a way of condensing information in a motivated form, naming an object starting from a defining property; they are able to briefly describe and classify notions; they have flexibility, thus reflecting the dynamic transforma-tions that occur in the domain of terminology. This article is an attempt to describe some of the lexical features of ecological terminological phrases and their functional value. |
