Rezumat | ||||||
The purpose of the paper is to analyse the gender-related differences and family background influences in the context of the choice of starting a business. Results confirm that (1) males have higher entrepreneurial intentions and view monetary rewards as valuable, (2) females value more intrinsic rewards, such as meaning and purpose in their lives, and (3) family background influence self employment intentions. The article concludes with implications for entrepreneurship development. Limitations and directions for future research are also discussed |
