Rezumat

Nowadays, a cluster is considered one of the modern concepts of increasing the competitiveness of the regions. The essence of the cluster is revealed in the paper and is justified its role in increasing the competitiveness of the regional economy. It turns out that the implementation of the cluster policy has a multiplier effect on the development of the region; it will bring it to a new model of economic growth. The role of clusters is to develop partnerships between the states, business and science. The cluster is considered as a tool for developing the potential of the economy, including innovation. Possible cluster development perspectives are identified, as well as tasks that need to be resolved for a subsequent distribution of clusters. The cluster approach creates the basis for creating new forms of knowledge exchange, contributing to effective cooperation between science, state and business. The purpose of the research is to investigate the cluster development process and the impact of its implementation on national economies, as well as providing an insight into how specific circumstances can influence the choice of cluster strategies and decision-makers in cluster policies.
