Rezumat

Continuing professional development of civil servants contribute to enhancing the professionalism, efficiency of public administration, ensuring the implementation of public administration reform process and perception by public servants citizens as customers, consumers of government services, transparency, accessibility and quality of service. Article 37 of Law 158/2008 on the public office and status of civil servant provides that each public authority shall ensure the organization of a systematic and planned professional development of civil servants, which includes improving and updating knowledge, skills and modeling attitudes necessary for the effective exercise of civil servants based tasks. Application of legislation will ensure effective staff development process, thus contributing to support the implementation of the modernization of public administration reform, raising the level of professionalism in the public service, increase government efficiency and provide better services and cheaper, raising awareness by officials of the necessity of ethical behavior and reduce corruption, streamline the process of European integration and the development of international cooperation.
