Political participation affords citizens in a democracy an opportunity to communicate information to government officials about their concerns and preferences and to put pressure on them to respond. It means that in any democratic system citizens have the right to express their views and attitudes towards almost everything happening in the public sphere or concerning their own interests in a way that governmental officials know this and respond. Most important thing is that citizen participation in the political process is always not only proclaimed right written in the Constitution, but also a personal willingness to participate.
