Rezumat

The beginning of Moldovan folk songs with the component “frunză verde” (green leaf) is considered from the standpoint of conceptology in the article. The specific feature of Moldovans’ worldview is manifested in the fact that in their songs they refer to the green colour of a leaf that symbolizes life not only to the plant as a whole. The formula of the beginning differs in names of various trees, shrubs and herbs. Most often people refer to plants that are the key concepts of the national culture – grapes and nuts. Folk traditions are maintained in contemporary Moldovan poetry, where the symbolism of the beginning of songs becomes a natural means of national expression. Usage of this formula by the Russian poets of Moldova indicates the fact of assimilation of the national branded concepts.
