The article reflects the results of the 4th edition of the National Book and Reading Festival, organized by the National Library of the Republic of Moldova, and its importance as a platform for promoting the importance of language, books, reading, and communication for cultural dissemination. The national book publishing industry is examined and compared against developments in other countries. The importance of public libraries in the digital age, their survival strategies, the future of libraries, of books, and reading are also highlighted. Library branding continues to be the book and the relationship between the printed book and the e-book.
