The study is dedicated to Rapid Seismic Alarm System (RSAS) alarm time assessment, for Republic of Moldova (RM) territory (case study - Chisinau city). The seismic wave propagation
aspect is reduced to a statistical study of recorded data, provided by ISC bulletin (1965-2012) for Vrancea seismogenic area, and use of regional structure models (HYPO ), for comparative analysis of spatial seismic locations done by ISC (global models ak-135) and those given by seismic records.
The geometry and the distributions of the seismogenic areas distinguish (2º×2º/1º×1º/0.5º×0.5º) sectors, with 5856, 4508, 3259 seismic events, and 15570, 12999, 10325 pairs of P/S phases, respectively recorded at 13 ISC seismic stations (as instrumental record’s reference for the investigated area).
In case of RSAS, the alarm time estimated for Chisinau-city is about 40 seconds and for Bucharest -city is about 28 seconds, with 12 seconds shorter than Chisinau-city case. Also, it is
necessary to be added this fact, for all RM territory the alarm time is higher (or equal - for SE part of the country) than alarm time for Bucharest-city. The actual Bucharest RSAS uses the regional seismic station network data of National Institute of Earth Physics (NIEP).
