By means of two biometeorological indices Humidex and WindChill the temperature conditions of hot summer of 2007 and of the cold winter 2009/2010 in Moldova were assessed. The contribution of adverse thermal conditions in the increase of excess deaths in these abnormal years was estimated. The retarded reaction (lag effect) of the human body on the impact of very high and very low temperatures was quantified. |
