Rezumat

The Dolgans are a Turkic-speaking people who make up the main population of the Taimyr Autonomous Okrug in northern Russia, well above the Arctic Circle. They live in the northernmost part of the Asian continent. At the end of the 20th century, their number was about 6,000. This number is decreasing. The Dolgan language has long been considered a dialect of the Yakut language, but it is only in the last century that the Dolgan language is considered a separate Turkic language. This language was an isolated language. The alphabet was created in the middle of the 20th century. The materials in the Dolgan language are mostly Bible translations. Dolgan Turkish preserves the ancient features of the proto-Turkic language. It contains many words belonging to Mongolian, Tungusic, Evenk and Russian languages. The Dolgan language is in danger of extinction. Research and study of this language is one of the important issues facing Turkology.
