Successive generations of Romanian and foreign linguists have proved, with the arguments that the history of the language provides, the lack of any scientific basis for the concept of the “Moldovan language”, an eminently political construct, forged by interests opposed to truth and reality. The paper reviews the most authoritative opinions in this regard and celebrates the act of justice represented by the decision of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova by which the phrase “Romanian language” replaces the previous variants - inaccurate, ambiguous, generalizing or simply false.
