A fundamental feature of living beings, human aggression appears as a complex reality: from the norm/rule in relations with others, a way of affirmation in a certain context, the guarantee of success (nonviolent, calm form), to its perception as a form of behavior destructively oriented, with the production of material, psychological, moral or mixed damages (Neculau, 1996). In other words, aggressiveness can take the form of that fundamental disposition "thanks to which the living being can obtain the satisfaction of its vital needs, mainly food and sexual", "the form of the dynamism of a subject who asserts himself, who does not run away from difficulties or struggle", (Larousse, 1998) as well as that of the hostile, malevolent character oriented towards oneself (self-aggressiveness) or towards others (hetero-aggressiveness) The present article highlights the importance of cognitive emotion regulation and reducing aggression on the custodial population by enhancing the psychoeducational intervention at the level of inmates. The study of documents and psychological, social, educational programs, own interventions and previous research, the actual work with the prison population and the results of the pilot study come to strengthen the author's convictions on the importance of psychoeducation in the penitentiary environment. |
