This article discusses the factors that contributed to the formation of positive image of the Russian and the Russian Empire at the Gagauz in the period 1812-1918. The author concludes that the Russian Empire created the socio-economic conditions for the development of Bugeac colonies. During this period the Gagauz saved their language identity, traditional culture and traditional way of life. |
