Article written based on ethnographic materials collected by the author in the village Musayit Taraclia district of Moldova, as well as scientific literature on research. The author describes the types of supporting economic activity Ukrainians south of Moldova - fishing, hunting, beekeeping, wool and fiber processing, weaving, crafts and woodworking, pottery, stone, metal, leather working and horns collection; reveals the influence of climatic conditions of southern steppe, regional features, borrowing from the cultural traditions of neighboring peoples; captures the local dialect terminology associated with farming.
