The article is devoted to different grain production in ancient times. Antique Greeks neighbors couldn’t provide for commodity grain production. Agriculture was not very important for them. Barbarian rulers were seeking the sources of income in other spheres of life. Rural economics played the toeing role in Thracian economy and of the development compensated the weakness of extensive farming cattle farming such economics could not turn into market economy and it limited vital rates of Thracian society.
