The subject of this study is the church „Adormirea Maicii Domnului” from the Petreşti village (Republic of Moldova) as a center for spiritual, cultural and educaţional development of the Petreşti village habitants. The primary endpoint is to follow the history of the spiritual life in from Petreşti county. The chronology of the study covers the period between XVIIIh and XXIh. Based on the study of materials and unpublished documentation from the National Archives of Moldova. There is described, in details, internal life of the church, relationship between spiritual and civil parts, some financial problems that existed along the activities of the church are reflected too. This article will be usefulfor those who are interested in spiritual life and contribution the church „Adormirea Maicii Domnului” had Petreşti village on in the history of Bessarabia.
