Background. At the current stage the tissue defects of the leg resulting after traumas often lead to septic complications, which require a reconstructive plastic approach to preserve the function and the aesthetic part of the lower limb. Objective of the study. Application of a new reconstructive method in the treatment of complicated septic tissue defects associated with pseudarthrosis. Material and Methods. During the period 2018-2020 in section no.5 of IMSP SCTO 13 patients with pseudarthrosis were treated (7 atrophic septic pseudarthrosis, 3 hypertrofic septic pseudarthrosis patients, 3 fractures complicated with osteitis). Patients were monitored according to the following parameters: flap size, consolidation time, type of bone stability, postoperative complications. Results. Reconstruction of defects of 13 patients included in the study was performed with FPTPC. The following results were established: flap dimension that were between 8×4 cm2 and 25×5 cm 2 , time of consolidation (105-187days). Bone stability at 12 patients was performed with external fixator, at 1 patient with plaster cast immobilization. Postoperatively there where 3 venous congestions with marginal flap necrosis. Conclusion. FPTPC is an efficient technique in the reconstruction of infected tissue defects of the leg with early restoration of functio |
