On March 25, 2018, the proclamation of the canonization of Metropolitan Iosif Naniescu took place in the Metropolitan Cathedral of Iași. This solemn proclamation coincided with the 200th anniversary of the birth of this Metropolitan of Moldova (in the village of Răzălăi, near Bălți) being around the celebration of the Centenary of the Union of Bessarabia with Romania (March 27, 2018), and celebrated by the feast of the Annunciation . On this occasion, we organized within the Iasi Metropolitan Museum an exhibition with various objects from the patron of this institution, dedicated to the personality of the Holy Hierarch Joseph the Merciful (name with which he was inscribed in the calendar of the Romanian Orthodox Church). It should be noted that not all objects related to Metropolitan Joseph could be exhibited in this exhibition, because the space did not allow certain display systems, and some of the objects are still used in worship. |
