Introducere. Virusul Herpes Simplex (HSV) e un virus uman şi mai mult de 90% din adulți posedă anticorpi contra HSV1. KH este forma cea mai comuna a bolii herpetice oculare de la 50% la 90% din herpesul ocular.Este cauza majora a cecitatății în țările dezvoltate şi indicația pentru transplant cornean. Scopul lucrarii. Stabilirea caracteristicile dignosticului şi tratamentului KH. Material şi metode. Studiu retrospectiv include pacientii diagnosticati cu KH 2007-2013 in cadrul Secției Oftalmologice a CM OVISUS Chişinău. Rezultate. 30 de pacienți au fost diagnosticați cu KH 2007-2013.Grup de studiu 21 F (70%) vârsta medie 59,67±18,16 şi 9 B cu vârsta medie 50,56±16,71. Evaluând pe grupe de vârstă se observă o tendință la adulții tineri 20-30 ani şi alta la vîrstnici 71-80 ani. Comorbidități: HTA ‒ 36,67%, DZ ‒ 20%, afecțiuni ale sistemului imun precum IRV ‒ 10%, HBV ‒ 10%, HCV ‒ 3,33%. Alte afecțiuni oculare: glaucom ‒ 16,67%, cataracta ‒ 10%, artifakie ‒ 6,67%, miopie ‒ 6,67%, degenerescență retiniană ‒ 3,33%, distrofie maculară ‒ 3,33%, blefarită ‒ 3,33%, pterigion ‒ 3,33%. Acuzele scăderea AV ‒ 93,33%, lăcrimare ‒ 83,33%, fotofobie ‒ 70%, durere, injecție conjunctivală ‒ 66,67%, blefarospasm ‒ 33,33%. Forme clinice determinate: KHE ‒ 20%, KHS ‒ 20%, keratouveita herpetica ‒ 33,33%, ulcer herpetic cornean ‒ 26,67%. Tratament chirurgical la 30% pacienți cu cresterea AV la 33,33% pacienți. Terapia medicamentoasă la 70% pacienți: antivirale, antibiotice topice, imunomodulatoare, steroizi topici cu creşterea AV la 33,33% pacienți. Concluzii. Datele sugerează că KH afectează preponderent femeile, pacienți cu imunitate scăzută, şi atât tratamentul medicamentos cât şi chirurgical duce la creşterea AV la pacienți.

Introduction. Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV) is a human virus and more than 90% of adults carry systemic antibodies to HSV-1. HK is the most common form of the HSV eye disease, counting for 50% to 90% of ocular herpes. This is the leading cause of corneal blindness among developed countries and the most common indications for corneal transplant. Objective of the study. To determine the diagnostic features and treatment outcomes for herpetic HK. Material and methods. All records of the patients diagnosted with HK from 2007 through 2013 at the Ophtalmological Department of Medical Centre "OVISUS" Chisinau, were retrospectively reviewed. Results. The study revealed 30 patients diagnosted with HK from 2007 to 2013. The study group was consisted of 21 F (70%) mean age 59.67±18.16 and 9 M (30%) mean age 50.56±16.71. Evaluating age groups it is noticed a rising trend through young adults age 20-30, and another peak among elders age 71-80. Also the patients showed comorbidities: hypertension ‒ 36.67%, diabetes ‒ 20%, diseases that affect immune system like viral respiratory infection ‒ 10%, HBV ‒ 10%, HCV ‒ 3,33%. The study group showed other ocular diseases: glaucom ‒ 16.67%, cataract ‒ 10%, artifakia ‒ 6.67%, myopia ‒ 6.67%, retinal degeneration ‒ 3.33%, macular dystrophy ‒ 3.33%, blefaritis ‒ 3.33%, pterygium ‒ 3.33%. The most common complains recorded were: decreased VA ‒ 93.33%, tearing ‒ 83.33%, photophobia ‒ 70%, ocular pain, conjunctival injection ‒ 66.67%, blepharospasm ‒ 33.33%. Ocular examination revealed the following manifestations of keratitis: herpetic epithelial keratitis ‒ 20%, herpetic stromal keratitis ‒ 20%, herpetic keratouveitis ‒ 33.33%, herpetic corneal ulcer ‒ 26.67%. Surgical treatment was performed on 30% of patients with an increase of VA for 33.33% of pacients. The overall 70% of patients required: antiviral medication, topical antibiotics, immunomodulatory drugs, topical steroids and also showed a significantly greater improvement in VA for 33.33% patients. Conclusions. Current data suggest that HK affects more women than men, with decreased immunity, and both surgical treatment and medication therapy have a better outcome with an increased VA.
