As a result of a range of modification such as: social modernization process, the intensification of population’s mobility, the liberalization of social norms and increasing economic independence of women and youth, we distinguish a new form of family: single-parent family. Being a non standardized unit it apparently raises a sum of deviations from the functions assigned to a complete family with a rhythm of development up to a normal one. Whatever is the cause that led to single parental family, most of all the consequences affect the aspects of child development as the most helpless prisoner. Depending on the functions that are performed by a complete family, the child is subjected to a psycho-social development mechanism more or less stable that has the aim of training a generation of trust. The goal is the same in the single parent families too, but whether we want or not, if there is a shortage - the result becames undesirable one. Thus the content of the topic "Psychosocial Aspects of children from the single parent families" first of all highlights psychological and social deviations of the child, as a result of single parental family. Even if single parentness becomes something natu-ral in our society, simultaneously with increasing of its acceptance, there can be detected an amount of problems linked with educational, social, economic, psychological issues and not last health issues that are present at the members of the family. Thus the need of social assistance intervention and not only of this, in order to prevent this family model, or support them through various activities and programs necessary for normal growth and development of children, is evident. |
