Rezumat

The study of quantitative characters in hybrids of Salvia sclarea L., highlighting the performance ones hat would guarantce increased production of inflorescences, a high content of essential oil have an indisputable importance. The main purpose in improving the sherry is the creation of new hybrids, varieties with high production of raw materials, with different vegetation period, high content of essential oil, resistant to abiotic factors. The biological material used is represented by 47 F1 hybrids: single, triliniar, double, stepped and complexes of Salvia sclarea L., in the second year of vegetation. During the vegetation period, phenological and biometric estimates were performed; the study of quantitative biomorphological characters, resistant to abiotic factors. Phenological evaluations have shown that F1 hybrids are divided into three maturation groups: early, medium and late, after the vegetation period. Hybrids of different types of Salvia sclarea, in conditions of high temperatures from the summer of 2020, have developed and formed plants with a height ranging from 83.0 to 137.9 cm. The length of the inflorescence varied from 47 to 72 cm. The most vigorous inflorescences were attested at the simple hybrid (AP 49-11 S3 x NC 61-11 S3)F1–72.4cm. The number of first-degree branches of the inflorescence ranged from 12.0 to 19.2, and the second degree branches ranged from 18.0 ta 44.4. Biochemical evaluations of the essential oil by hidrodistillation showed that the value of the indices of the essential oil content in the inflorescences, recalculated ta the dry matter, varied from 0.864 to 1.836%. High content of essential oil of over 1.0% was attested at 65.9% of the studied hybrids, and 19.2% of these hybrids accumulated a very high content of 1.3-1.8%. The highest content of essential oil, recalculated to dry matter, was in the simple hybrid (NC 19-11 S3 x AP 113-11 S3)F1, - 1,836%. In conclusion, the research carried out resulted in the creation and evaluation of a large number of F1 hybrids of different types, these being a valuable breeding material for the elaboration of new varieties of hybrid origin.
