Background. Patient satisfaction is an important element in determining the quality of medical services. Surveys among patients are increasingly used both internationally and nationally to measure the performance of health systems. Objective of the study. Analysis of patients’ satisfaction with hospital medical care. Material and Methods. A cross-sectional study of 118 adults, beneficiaries of hospital care was carried out. An anonymous self-administrated questionnaire was used to collect data. Excel program was used to analyse the dataset. Results. 33.6% of respondents said they were satisfied and very satisfied with the medical care provided in the hospital. About six out of 10 patients (58.6%) were satisfied and very satisfied with the knowledge and qualification of medical doctors, 53.4% with the knowledge and qualification of nurses, and 42,4% with the attitude of medical staff. The highest degree of satisfaction with the attitude of medical staff was attested in the republican hospitals (64.3%), followed by the municipal hospitals (53.5%) and the district hospitals (30.6%). Only 33.9% of patients were satisfied with the conditions in the hospital ward and 22.1% in the bathroom. Conclusion. (1) Evaluation of patient satisfaction highlighted aspects that negatively influence patient’s perception of the quality of hospital medical services. (2) The identified issues should be taken into account when drafting strategies on the development of national health system. |
