Background. Nowadays, statins represent benefic therapeutic option in management of dyslipidemia. Metabolic associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD) is a pathology in which frequent is attests dyslipidemia. The using of statins for these type of patiens represent contraversial medical problem. Objective of the study. To analyze modern medical literature about treatment of dyslipidemia for patients with metabolic associated fatty liver disease. Material and Methods. This study was realized by using PubMed database searching engine with key words such as non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, metabolic associated fatty liver disease, statins, and dyslipidemia. Results. From 50 studies were selected 26 articles for analyzing the effectiveness of treatment of dyslipidemia with statins in MAFLD (original articles and meta-analyses). Katsiki N. consider that beneficial effects of statins are underused possible due to a fear of statin related hepatic damage. Scheirwagen R. suggests that statins have shown anti-inflammatory effects by reducing inflammatory cascades. Huang LW consider that statins affect paracrine signaling by blocking influence of hepatocytes on hepatic stellate cell activity and fibrogenesis. Trebicka J emphasize improving endothelial function by growing activity of nitrogen monoxide. Conclusion. Statins can be efficient and inoffensive treatment option for the patients with MAFLD with pre and cirrhotic stage of the disease, based on anti-inflammatory, anti-fibrotic and regenerative effects of these drugs. |
