Background. Molecular diagnostic represents a new era in allergology. The allergic potential of allergenic molecules can be from minor local reactions, to systemic manifestations. Molecular diagnostic methods are based on highlighting the IgE-specific sensitization to allergenic molecules. Objective of the study. To determine the sensitization profile to different families of allergenic molecules (profilin, PR-10, lipid transfer proteins, memory proteins), of patients with allergic pathologies. Material and Methods. The study included 14 patients with allergic diseases (allergic rhinitis, food allergies, asthma), who had been investigated using molecular diagnostic tests (ALEX, allergy explorer test). Patients were consulted on an outpatient basis within the general therapy and allergology department of CRH “Timofei Moșneaga” in 2019-2020. Results. The most common sensitizations to different types of allergenic molecules have been highlighted. Sensitization to profilin (allergenic molecule in grass and tree pollen) was present in 40% of cases; tropomyosin (allergenic molecule in crustaceans) in 20% of cases; in PR-10 (allergenic molecule in tree pollen) - 11,42% of patients; to polcalcin (weed and conifer allergenic molecule) in 11,42% of the cases. Sensitization to serum albumine (allergenic molecule of domestic animals) - in 8,57% patients; to nsLTP (allergenic molecule of plant products) - 5,71% of cases and lyase pectinate (plant allergenic molecule) in 2,85% of cases. Conclusion. The sensitization to allergenic molecules of profilins, PR-10 and polcalcin, that are found in the pollen or the plant parts of herbs, trees, weeds and conifers, has been found to predominate within the analyzed patient group. |
