Rezumat | ||||||
This seminal work was written over 300 years ago by a one of the most gifted sons of Moldova. The geopolitical and historical dialectics embedded in the narrative are relevant for the understanding of the historico-cultural legacy, contemporary political tensions, and prospects for national renewal. This paper examines the text of Cantemir’s work through the framework of narrative theory and seeks to interpret this literary monument toward contemporary utility. This effort represents a deconstruction of a historical document though the paradigm of Moldovan national identity and patriotic agenda. |
