Rezumat

The goal of the presentation is to discuss research findings about challenges and possibilities of parenting during COVID-19 time. The research was implemented in the framework of Erasmus+ Strategic partnership project "DepCip – Digitised Education of Parents for Children Protection" (2019-1-TR01-KA204-077577) in the spring of 2020. Mixed methods research including survey and qualitative interview was done in five partner countries: Greece, Italy, Lithuania, Spain, Turkey. Comparative data shows that across the countries there were similarities as well as differences in changed parenting behavior during the pandemic. Relationship between parents and children, when and how parents have informed children about the virus and pandemic, what emotions were dominating during the quarantine, who took the main responsibilities of children before and during the quarantine, what were the situations when parents lost their tamper and punished the children, what support family needed will be discussed in the presentation. The analysis of national findings reveals specificity of culturally related parenting responses to uncertain situation and various coping strategies in overcoming unexpected difficulties.
