The author shows the processes of decolonization and state-building in the Caribbean region using the example of the Dutch West Indies, noting the mutual desire of actors for equality and political maturity. Despite the importance of bilateral contacts between the Antilles and the European Netherlands, the Caribbean people want to maintain their own identity, opposing universal values imposed by liberalism. |
