This paper includes species of vascular plants of medicinal value from the Eastern Carpathians (Romania), which are on both the Romanian Red Lists and Red Book for vascular plants. Sozophytes registered in various domestic and international documents and regulations are inventoried. Each taxon (species/ subspecies) included in the paper is presented as follows: scientifi c name, author, most popular common name, international legal act of protection, its presence on the Romanian Red Lists/Red Book, its general spreading as well as its medicinal uses.
